Bursting Universe is Kelly Abbott and James Tinsley. They met in 1999 at a college in Lynnwood, WA. They put on a play for the college then made their first feature, a comedy called Last Stop. They recently finished filming their sixth feature, an Orwellian flick called Citizens, in Seattle. They have figured out a way of putting their heads together to pull off far more interesting movies than if only one persons ideas were used.
